There are not many music podcasts which are keepers, but Sombrero Fallout is definitely one for me. I haven't missed an episode since the Guardian boosted it way back. Ian hits the right balance of music and chat, as well as classics and new artists. His indie knowledge is comprehensive and his taste infallible.

Sombrero fallout has become a constant inspiration and source of new material. I have bought more albums from artists I haven't heard of (since listening a Sombrero Fallout 2022ish).

Refreshing Perspective on Music Podcasts I'm not, in general, a big fan of podcasts, including music-related ones: too often they're just self-indulgent inconsequential chat that seem like little more than an ego trip. SF is such a refreshing change: focused on the music, interspersed with just the right amount of exemplification, good humour and domestic snippets to make it so much more than just another playlist. It's like listening to a good old John Peel show, only with all the songs played at the right speed. Long may it continue!

Fantastic music recommendations and rambles I stumbled across Sombrero Fallout after listening to a glowing recommendation from Adam Buxton. I then loved working my way through the back catalogue of 150 episodes. Ian’s choices are great and I’ve come across a few missed gems from back in the day too. I now greatly look forward to my bimonthly alternative music rambles.

The Infinite Sound Journey: Beyond Sombrero Fallout One does not simply 'complete' Sombrero Fallout. Next there's all the back catalogues of all the newly discovered or rediscovered bands, then all the other stuff in similar veins recommended by the Spotify algorithm ... I honestly don't know of another music pod this good.

Best music podcast there is Sombrero Fallout is the best music podcast there is. As someone who has spent a huge part of my life in the music 'biz' it still surprises me that I am gifted a 'new favourite band' every fortnight, thanks to S.F.
