Power Supply

Although this Australian indie rock combo made their debut in 2021, its members have a long history together. Essentially a reboot of Melbourne cult favorites the Ooga Boogas, Power Supply reunites all four members of the former group and tones their spiky garage rock sound into a still virile, but somewhat mellower tone. Power Supply’s first album, In the Time of the Sabre-toothed Tiger, was released in late 2021.

Following the Ooga Boogas’ demise around the turn of the 2010s, its members splintered into various other bands and projects, with singer/guitarist Leon Stackpole gaining some notoriety for his subsequent solo efforts under the name Leon. Guitarist Mikey Young played in groups like Total Control and Eddy Current Suppression Ring, bassist Richard Stanley was in Drug Sweat, and drummer Per Byström joined Voice Imitator. As Stackpole’s solo project continued to gain momentum, he slowly recruited each of his former bandmates to serve as his touring band.

Having more or less reunited the Ooga Boogas to play Leon’s material, they renamed the project Power Supply and completed work on their first album. Released in 2021, In the Time of the Sabre-toothed Tiger added a bit of chugging Velvet Underground cool to the group’s undeniably punchy garage pop style. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi

I'm the director of a wonderful small web design company, based in a small village called Cromarty in the Highlands of Scotland. If you'd like a website built by a nice team of reliable people, most of whom have been building websites for well over 20 years, get in touch. We would love to help you.

If you host your website with us, we'll plant at least one tree a year (probably a few more), each and every year when we send you our invoice.

If this sounds good, pop over to our own website and get in touch. Jamie, Colin, Garve, Sandy or Gill will be happy to help you. If you're in the North of Scotland, pop in for a tea or coffee and we'll get you a nice bun to wash it down with, made by the fantastic folk of Cromarty Bakery.
